Also, I feel the meaningless banning of Winnie the Pooth and stuff like that show insecurity and authoritarianism.  He should pave the way to a more open but secure China in order for China to move on to the next step.  Right now, his governence style is so outdated that most countries are dealing with China because the West screwed up not because China is better.  Xi definitely was not instrumental in moving China out of poverty,  It was a series of strategies starting with Deng Xiao Ping, the joining the WTO, to openning up the market and now XI, consolidating the successess of his predecessors.  

It is almost nerdy to follow outdated policies.  For example, the policy of making sure all Chinese companies are answerable to the CCP is so unneccesary, immature and.....nerdy.  Let companies like Huawei grow without giving foreign countries the excuse to be suspicious.  Trust the nationalism of Chinese within these companies to ensure the intetrest of China is always protected.
