Not just to maintain social stability but, more importantly, to make the Chinese society more JUST. There is no reason for a child's life to be ruined by hydrocephalus, for example-- but that still seems to happen in China. I hope China can have its own National Health System soon. There is no justification for the poor and very sick to rely on donations from the kind-hearted in order to get treatment at all.

Agree that the "deteriorating relationship with the West" is Un-avoidable! Western political elites see the Chinese like the Indian upper castes see the Dalits. Do the Chinese WANT to be "global Dalits"???
