The saudis, with their money, sure peddle their wahabi/salafi  islam wherever they could. The indonesian domestic I observed obviously practised a moderate form of wahabism/salafism (well but she divorced her husband after he fooled around with other women..)

Bin Salman seems a smart person and he senses something are changing:

--- Saudi arabia can't depend on oil forever & need to diversify

--- just how reliable would yank $ be?

--- Religious radicalism is on the decline worldwide
