They would exploit the loopholes so their children would not have to go. If there kids did have to join the military they would be in guard and reserve units that would never be in jeopardy of being activated. They could be put on ships that are almost completely out of the action. They could sit in the cockpits of numerous air force airframes that are well out of reach of the current bogeymans reach. You wont find them bearing a real gun within harms reach of a Muslim terrorist/freedom fighter.
