Seems to me that race riots in Anglo societies just comes and goes, like the tides.Bangladesh is a basket case as long as I been alive, as long as any of us have been alive. Have an election then overthrow the government, out via a coup, where the government had no means to deal with protesters. That country is a poster child for the Third World, forever!
The situation in Burma has changed. Before the government forces would try to advance to pacify the minority regions. In that the minority rebels would be fending off government forces, and maybe counter attack.
What happened this time was the rebels learned to use drones and kicked out the government army, in a massive offensive it turned out to be, now the rebels have vanquished the government army for now, and are in control of more territory than ever before. This we have never seen before. Seems to me the state of Myanmar is under threat, it really might not survive, there is that chance now, that door has cracked open ever so slightly.
It is hard to get news from that place, so every report is very interesting.
