like it or not, Russia is the only useful ally for China in the world today. If Russia fall, you will see how cold and lonely the world is for China. Europe is pretty much a vassal to the US at this point, the same with Japan and South Korea and Canada and Australia. Anything that make Russia weaken, will not bode well for China, especially if Russia is taken over by American puppet, like navalny. I don't think Beijing like what is happening today. War in Ukraine made Russia weak, and hindered China OBOR plan. Meanwhile the US is getting rich from selling energy and weapons to Europe, who at this point is reduced to client state of the US. The longer this war going on, the worse the outcome is for China. Putin isn't getting any younger. Once he is gone, there will probably be chaos in Russia. I doubt Putin's faction can find another strongman like Putin to replace him. Any strongman that can replace Putin is probably already taken care by Putin. The longer this war going on, the more Russia economy will fall into ruin. Once that happen, there will be more dissatisfaction and protests. If the government fall, a government more friendly to the west could replace the current one. Then China is screwed.
