the world could return to the pre-Trump-- even pre-Obama's Pacific pivot-- state so that it could carry out its OBOR ambition without hinderance. But, the UncleSe are out to get China now. China has grown too advanced and too strong for the UncleSe to have a sound sleep at night. There is no going back. We must go from here.

Unless there is the possibility of a direct hot war like the Korean War, I don't see the likelihood of a direct alliance between China and Russia. Even if the West is in a direct fight with one, the other might not be willing to join the fight-- it might just give material support like the one USSR gave to China during the Korean War.

I think right now, China should just sit tight, watch and evaluate the developments and then decide. This seems to be the best way to keep one's options open for now.
