That's a pipe dream and a delusion. Taiwan at this point will NEVER peacefully reunify with China. Only force or the threat of force will bring Taiwan either to the table, or to its knees, nothing short of that. That's why the gun is all that matters, and the dollar bill means nothing. The US has been arming Taiwan to the teeth for decades, and like I said before is almost certainly sending in masses and masses of Javelins as we speak. This is also why economic interdependence means precisely dick when it comes to Taiwan and China. Both sides could be totally intertwined economically and still be arming themselves to the teeth; this is actually exactly what is happening now. It will be the gun that decides the fate of Taiwan, not anything else.
