As of now, China is fighting western propaganda through great leap forward relic called xinhua, and through boredom called CGTN. All are waste of money because hardly anyone pay them any attention abroad. At least India is far ahead of China in this propaganda battle. India actually set up hundreds of fake online media with western sounded name, and use them to steer western public opinion. Meanwhile the western media has allied themselves with many developing countries' local media, which helping the western media to spread western propaganda in their countries.

China should acquire foreign local media, and also emulate india to set up numerous western sounded or other foreign names media to help China in the battle of propaganda. Those who control media, control public opinion, and those who control public opinion, will control politicians. This is actually a great time to do that. Internet has made it cheap to set up online news, while also made many traditional famous foreign media on the verge of bankruptcy, ripe for acquisition. China should focus the acquisition on big developing nations. But China must do it through private sector so that others won't accuse China of state propaganda.
