From what is understood, the long term economic growth of the USA was always 3% or a little more.

Obama was blamed as the only president in US history to never have a year where the economy grew at the historical average or over 3%. That was a sign things were not the same after the 2008 Financial Crisis.

This is a pretty good link, the numbers and brief note of the major events.

From this data, we just mark two periods.

1930 to 2007 average USA economic growth rate is 3.5%

2008 to 2019 average USA economic growth rate is 1.7%

Clearly, something is a little different. America is just not the same as before.

Also, the effects of the pandemic are still largely unknown.

Then there are the Marxist theories, about debt getting too big, overwhelm the system.

Today, the United States resemble Europe with this GDP growth numbers.

Then we have to add in the unfunded liabilities they call it, such as social assistance payments like the old age pension. There is currently no money for that. They pay it to the old people via taxation of young people, when ideally there should be an investment fun.

Realistically, we have to see the United States try to grow again at their historical average, before we can say the United States is back like Biden said. The current average growth rate of 1.7% (post 2008 Lehman Bros.) is the rate they are using for this geopolitical struggle against China. That would mean China has triple the growth rate.

Then to top it all off, they printing money. Jerome at the Fed runs the printing presses 24x7.

Me, I just try to protect myself, that's all.
