independence, it is like an all-in play in poker and they know China will call.

The value of Taiwan to the US is just a pawn to make China squirm and off-balance. When the fate of Taiwan is decided, it loses its value.

Then, it is no longer the fate of Taiwan we are talking about. It is the future of China and the future of the US. (potentially the fate of the world and the human race)
