Many Americans believe the virus is an escaped Chinese bioweapon.

Conversely, the unfounded conspiracy theory that the virus was a US bioweapon targeting China might have seemed somewhat reasonable to the uninformed, due to the intensifying political warfare the US has been waging against China in recent years.

The US media machine was very quick to take advantage of the outbreak, and the US will undoubtedly step up efforts at social disruption with the end goal being regime change. I'm not sure how the PRC government will handle this.

On the other hand, the US may face similar risks of internal instability.

In the long term, the use of wild animal parts in TCM preparations MUST be restricted! Chinese, whether on the mainland or Taiwan, must reject TCM in favour of modern medicine!
