because the virus may have originated in pangolin scales used in TCM remedies. The reason that the virus may not have originated in China at all is if the pangolins were smuggled in from Africa or Southeast Asia. BTW the pangolin scales are illegal in China but I guess no law enforcement can blunt the irrational superstition of the people.

Can anyone believe this stuff has really been tested on a disease that is only a few months old? Is the government and health department and all the TCM institutes touting qi and other nonsense too? Did Falungong take over the country when I wasn't looking? We need to put aside this backward superstitious thinking if China is ever to modernise.
