Thomas Lockley's book is more like a novel, a work of fiction with historical background. He is just an associate law professor at Nihon Univesity, not a historian. He depends on translations and fictions as secondary source, he can’t use primary source material. He has been editing the wikipedia not under his real name. People have been calling him out. Nihon University even the Japanese government are after him for his claim.
