I still think that the Panghu Islands should have been taken as a response to Squeaker Polylunacis' visit. Some islands there should be joined up and enlarged to make room for assembling an invasion force. After that is done, and depending on the depth of the water there, a causeway is to be built toward the main island of Taiwan-- that might have to be done under fire.

That way, it might be possible to avoid having to do an opposed landing on a beach, which is notoriously difficult.
