The lights are electric arcs because the Hawaii power company was too stupid to turn off the electricity before the wind blew down the power poles and started the fires. The same thing happened in California. Most Chinese and SEAsians may not be aware that much electricity in the US is carried through exposed wires mounted on wooden poles (these are usually made from Douglas-fir logs and impregnated with oil to prevent rot, just like 100 years ago) instead of being buried underground in case of typhoons. The fires are from a combination of climate change causing more wind/dryness and poor US policy/infrastructure management. No need to insinuate conspiracies. Bottom line, verify before posting.
