You are assuming PLA airforce would not be able to dominate the sky and not able to isolate and destroy Taiwan's land forces after the initial 24 hours. And stop using American experience as the gold standard, for fighting a foe with virtually no airforce or no air defense, Americans were absolutely incompetent. Their performance is no better than that of Russians in Ukraine.

As far as nukes go, the only scenario it would be contemplated is when the US is losing a shooting war with China and losing very badly and quickly. You can count on that!
