the more the better.  When it comes to a real war, hi tech can only go so far.  

There are about 190 F-22s.  They no longer manufacture them. Parts are salvaged off other F-22s.  The US is upping their F15-EX production and F16s.

F-35s are not proven yet.

Stealth fighters like J20s and such are good to have. Great for strategic stuff but when a real war starts, you need volume and ease of manufacture.  

The amount of China's fighter planes is pale in comparison to US's.
