they are cheaper than F-35s. If the USAF was given enough money by the government they would have all stealth aircraft. In a war of attrition numbers do matter, but clearly so does stealth. I see you have totally ignored the fact that China has somewhere between 3 to 5 stealth programs it's juggling at the same time in your claim that stealth is allegedly "overrated". If it's so overrated why don't they just give them up and build thousands more 4th gen aircraft? Clearly both the PLAAF and PLANAF don't even remotely agree with your assessment. Both the US and Chinese militaries are obviously utilizing a simultaneous hi-lo approach with both high end stealth fighters and low end bomb trucks. It's actually a quadruple tier hi-lo approach with J-20 + J-35 and J-15/6 + J-10. And no, I don't agree with anyone saying get rid of all 4th gens and getting all 5th gens; 4th gens clearly have important roles in terms of numbers and cost savings over 5th gens in addition to carrying external (and thus heavier) payloads. This doesn't even remotely mean that I or either the US or Chinese militaries feel that stealth is "overrated". I'm pretty sure you will be able to find NOBODY in either military who is willing to back you up on this LOL
