Reminds me of when Cambodia was climbing out of the US bombing and Khmer Rouge killings and tried to pick up the pieces.  Nobody wanted to invest in Cambodia and some Chinese entrepreneurs took the risk amidst the extremely corrupt Cambodian government.  Invested millions to start factories and every one wanted to work there because jobs were scarce and people were very poor.

Lo and behold, Western "NGOS" started protesting the "working conditions" of these Cambodian factories. Citing "Human Rights" violations, low wage and stuff.  Those NGOs recruited local leaders to protest and asked for rights somewhat similar to what is expected in the West.  Well, those factories moved out.  People lost jobs.

This is what they are doing now in Africa.  To use "moral" justifications to get rid of Chinese investment whcih actually gave tangible progress to many African countries.
