While in the US, anti-Asian hate came from the Black community, in Canada, it was the the indigenous people. 

I feel the common denominator here is the sense of victimhood by both of these groups.  When your reality is based on victimhood, coupled with ignorance, you will be empowered to victimize other groups of people you deem "below" you.   What I meant by "below" meaning that Asians are always perpetuated by the media as outsiders, foreign and less than desirable.  While American Blacks and Native Canadians are portrayed by the media as victims of racism and discrimination.  It doesn't help when these "undesirable" Asians have the highest per capita income, low crime, affluent, low substance abuse, low out of wedlock kids and solid family value.

 

I think Asians should have a special right to carry firearms for self defense and a special federal  "Stand Your Ground"  law must be made espeically for Asians to protect themselves.  Not that it is going to happen.  Just wishful thinking.
