45% of Taiwan's exports are to China.  Taiwan's economy is export dependent. 70% of its GDP.  Not only that, Taiwan relies on China for many ciritical resources. Some of the imports from China are very difficult to replace.

Since yesterday, China already banned many goods from Taiwan. 

Tsai Ing-Wen's term is up in 2024.  I doubt her party, DPP will win majority in 2024.
