It's doubtful anything would develop more that all this talk.The Chinese side probably should mobilize some equipment.
From the American angle, they already fighting a proxy war with Russia, and they want to play more games with the Chinese that could potentially lead to another major confrontation? That is a little nutty.
China should mobilize, indicate they mean business. Prevent any more provocative moves from the Americans or Taiwan DPP.
My guess is nothing is going to happen.
It just does not feel right, that this is the time for something drastic to happen between the straits.
August is next week. If they do not say anything more, guess this was just all rumour-mongering.
When they say they are planning a trip in August, when no one is paying attention, then no one notices it when it is supposed to be cancelled either.
