Just look at cuban missile crisis. Or how the US deal with Russia and China. They knew Putin can be crazy, so they avoid pushing his button too much. They knew Chinese successive leaderships are reasonable and restraint people, so they keep pushing the button. The US geopolitical experts always said that China is different than Russia, because China hates chaos, that's why China will avoid rocking the boat. Instead of feeling gratitude towards China for that, the US actually use that to keep pushing China. It is time to rock the boat a bit to show the US that there are consequences in life.
