By the time they are done, Ukraine will be land locked.  The big battle will be at Odesa which is why Ukraine is focusing on Transnistria and pressuring Moldova to join in.  Moldova is not biting.  Transnistria is a Russian speaking break-away region of Moldova.  Their fighters are ready to flank Odesa while Russian troops after they are done with Mykolaiv will be targeting Odesa. Probably next week which is why the US, German, France and even Ukraine is calling for a peace talk these couple of days.  This is what happened when Ukraine stupidly focusing on Kiev and Northern Ukraine and claiming "victories" when these areas are of no value to Russia.
