ignored the most basic fundamental levers of action in Ukraine, the most basic motivations on the part of Russia and Putin, and instead have chosen to cast him as a "madman". Putin is basically the exact opposite of a madman. He is one of the most coldly calculating world leaders alive. Unfortunately for him he has alot of stuff going against him, most importantly things like the shocking incompetence and dilapidation of the Russian military, and his bumbling attempts to justify his invasion and war against Ukraine using all kinds of nonsensical bullsh1t that (almost) everyone can easily see through. What he should have done is loudly and repeatedly state the actual reasons for invasion (NATO encroachment and the resultant Russian national security concerns) until the rest of the world's media can't help but come to terms with them and deal with them directly instead of making up their own narratives about what motivates Putin and simultaneously making fun of him for spouting his bullsh1t.
