I have relatives in Taiwan, China, Hong Kong and South East Asia.  Everyone of us have that understanding of cultural brotherhood and any misunderstandings and historical grievances can be resolve through dialogue and negotiation.  If China do invade Taiwan and caused mass casualities,  the Chinese leadership will be seen as a non-Chinese entity.  My simple point of view.
