China’s Superconducting Quantum Computer Sets Quantum Supremacy Milestone

Inside the article there are links to other relevant information including the paper that was published.

The article mentions a Chinese company QuantumCTek Co., Ltd. which seems to make those optical measuring equipment. Therefore, we have to assume that this new quantum computer is light based just like the previous experiment.

It follows that that the previous experiment was definitely scalable in its design, which they did here, adding more qbits. And they also added the programming component to the system, making this a reliable, scalable, programmable, quantum computer at 66 qbits.

That's it, sure seems to me, myself a lay person, that they actually built a functioning and programmable quantum computer.

This is a big deal, and the Chinese do not want to say much about it. It is light based, and not what Google and other American firms are doing with the super-cooled conducting. It would appear that the super-cold system could not deliver on the same level of stability to the moving particle, and it was not easily scalable, that would mean they would have to build a bigger machine which still may have those particle stability problems.

Guess the team from China lead by Pan Jian-Wei with their optical system with lasers and crystals all based on material science, made a bonafided system, a reliable, scalable, and programmable quantum computer.

Has the world arrived at the quantum computing age, in China???

Sure seems like it.
