1. Making the foreign company choose a side, is not really the main point I believe. We already know what every foreign company wants. They want to continue selling to both sides.Right now, they have to change everything in order to do that.
That seems to be the issue. What will the world look like with two supply chains, one centered around China and one centered around America.
I would believe that everyone is trying to figure that out.
But, there is a twist.
As the world tries to go in that direction of two separate supply chains, would that be satisfactory for the Americans?
Haha! We do not know the answer to that?!
But, what can they realistically do to prevent two supply chains in the world from forming? Use the same blueprint for the Huawei 5G strategy?
This kind of makes me believe that this so-called tech war started by the Americans is on the verge of collapse.
2. The RCEP to me is all about scale, and fortunately for them they have a lot of room for more growth.
They say that the RCEP will double its economic output in 10-15 years, and that I believe. The RCEP already is the largest economic block there is.
All companies doing business in this block, should do well. All Asian companies including Chinese companies should have the pole position.
If the US government does not want the US company to be part of it, because of China, that is their decision.
They cut themselves off voluntarily from the world's biggest market.
At this point, why would anyone care? One less competitor, which means more opportunities for Asian companies to make more money, because the Americans are not here with a big presence in RCEP.
That is why at some parts of all of this ... I truly do not understand the trade war and tech war.
In a war, we are playing to win. But what the Americans are doing, they seem like they want to lose! I don't get it. LOL.
