The Yangtze and Pearl River Delta areas would be considered developed. Many areas such as in Yunnan, Sichuan and Gansu are still very poor. Great strides have been made in Guizhou in poverty alleviation with high tech industries taking off in Guiyang and infrastructure much improved with tourism booming.
