Go back to history and see how when the Chinese close their minds, bad things happen.  I can certainly undertand the PTSD of the last 2 centuries but to knee-jerk react based on thousand year deeply embedded tendencies will only repreat history.  ISIS clones are closed minded people.  By invoking Tang Dynasty is a cry to let our brethrens know that it is OK to let go of some long held beliefs.
