1. It is typically Canadian, white Canadian like to think they are equals or better than anyone else, but tend to feel inferior when they try to measure up to someone bigger or better like the Americans or increasingly now the Chinese. The entire country starts to whine like this.

2. Then the bullshat self-promotion, that they had a hand in this, and deserve more. Even if is it like 5% at most, they would claim it would have never have happened without them. Try not to laugh, but that is true. Then the Canadian inferiority complex kicks in again.

3. The investigation is good because Hauwei bankrolling everything in 5G in Canada it seems. There does not seem to be evidence of anyone else doing such funding.

4. Same old story now about how broke as a joke is the west in some respects. The academics in Canada love Chinese money so they can do their cutting edge research. Without that Chinese grant money, the Canadian government will not come up with the cash, and basically no Canadian research in 5G if Huawei pulls out.

5. The lawyer in the article says Canada should get more money out of this, but that is not how it works. Who owns the patent will own the profits. In short, Chinese $$$ own your ass. At this point, that lawyer guy is a total SJW.

Since I live here, and once the article starts out that way, the news had to be "bad", lol.

Nothing is going to change the way things are right now with Huawei funding Canadian academic research into 5G and taking all the patent rights from it, as there is no money for the Canadian academic for this research. Regardless about Canadian misgivings about it, nothing anyone can do, useless they wants all the researchers to leave the country.

That is the great irony of this article, and Canada really.

Last week, a Chinese takeout of a Canadian construction company was rejected on national security grounds. A construction company? National security?

Yet, the Canadians sell out like this on the IP for the 5G.

They do not know what they are doing. LoLz.
