or the 30 years War; people have been using the Bible for their own purposes for millennia. On the other hand, jihad is literally mandated by the Quran. Modern Islamic scholars frequently try to commit acts of historical revisionism by referring to "inner struggle" and "maintaining the religion", but overwhelming this term has historically been understood as military conflict against infidels. Built into this very religion is the seed of violence, and this is what we have been seeing since the very beginning of Islam.
