MEERUT: Members of Akhil Bharatiya Hindu Mahasabha commemorated November 15 — the day Mahatma Gandhi's assassin Nathuram Godse was hanged in 1949 — as 'balidan divas' (day of sacrifice) and launched a website titled 'Nathuram Godse — The Real Forgotten Hero' on Sunday morning. The website, members say, has been put up to inform the public about Godse's "good deeds
Hindu Mahasabha members also conducted havans in as many as 120 offices of the organization. "We have launched the website (www.nathuramgodse.in) so that the public can enhance their knowledge about Godse and decide about his character. Scanned copies of his book 'Gandhi Vadh Kyu?' (Why Gandhi was killed) and his brother Gopal's 'Gandhi Vadh aur Main' will be uploaded on the website and will be available for all to read," said Madan Acharya, president, Vishwa Hindupeeth, an offshoot of the Mahasabha.
