If it was for show of force, I thought it was no good as the PLAN ships can sort of sing "I can shoot you, but you can't shoot me" if they keep out of range of the range of the anti-surface weapons of the Lassen.

Does the US navy have anything that can out-range the PLAN anti-ship weapons, at least on paper, apart from calling in the F-18s? Subs don't count as they can't do show of force.
