Like America, China is a failing society. Its skyscrapers, fancy cars and name brand department stores are merely facades.

"What's in it for me?" Is a mentality that runs through majority of Chinese people's minds, it's more fierce in minds of government officials. U.S. wasn't lying when it said China is no more than a modernized wild wild west, in many ways it's even more so. It's wild wild west+1920's, 30's Chicago and New York by a billion fold.

Just remember this if you ever want to do something great in China; He Who Has the Gold Makes the Rules; metrictons of gold. Be prepared to bribe every single person you meet from 10,000rmb a table dinners, to karaoke bars with prostitutes, to 'hong bao' red envolopes full of cash or large deposit check cards, there is no end. You'll have to shell out -500% before you could even see a single digit positive return from your "investments." And it will be a life-long lifestyle for you and your "buddies."

All I can say is the truth hurts. Face it, buddy. Stop bullsh1tting people with your mindless ideologies. If you have the guts or even a 10% compatriot, go make China a better place by doing something real from these hard to swallow, yet true, negative angles.

As for the case of Deng, Yujiao. If there wasn't a stir up in the internet community by the public, she would definitely not have had a fair hearing/trial. In most cases, people that work on the case whether it's the lawyer for Deng, DA, judge or whomever else would not have stood by her simply because she's a nobody. People in China don't like to 'de zui' or offend, have beef with any powerful person (person's close friends, relatives, etc) for ANY reason even if it's right vs. wrong. If there was no pressure from the public, Deng would have gotten life imprisonment or a lesser sentence of proclaiming her as mentaly insane and incarcerated into a mental institute where she'll really turn into a nutcase.

This is not just China, this is everywhere, even here in the U.S. It's only more common in developing societies where rule of law isn't ripe.
