There are about 60+ million ethnic Chinese outside Mainland China. Most of them are in the South East Asian region, Taiwan and Hong Kong. Their combined economy is third after the US and Japan. So per capita wise, they are the most affluent. These overseas Chinese owned most of the economy in South East Asia from Lao to Indonesia. It was the financial investment of these overseas Chinese that financed the economic rise of China in the 1990s when the West was shunning China.
So please don't go around using overseas Chinese to pass as indigenous people just because you have self esteem issues.
