HAL couldn't deliver Tejas to IAF anyway due to GE delay in delivering the F404 engine citing disruption in global supply chain. And not just the engine, Israel busy with the war also deplay delivery of the radar for Tejas. Can't even produce a 3 gen plane fully by themselves.

This guy is right. When your 3 gen "indigenous" fighter depends on so many critical components imported from unreliable "friendly" countries, how can you embark on next-gen project when you couldn't source next-gen component such as the engine. Even outdated F404 couldn't be source reliably in peace time. TBH 6 gen fighter is not prepared with India in mind. It's that one across the pond.
