Geopolitically, there are fascist groups in Turkey that are supporting Uyghur separatism. But I suspect it has more to do about corporate espionage. Countries like Turkey and India are ambitious and they want their own EV champion, and they won't shy away from stealing IP if they have to, not unlike China to be honest, and once that happen, there are hardly any legal recourse that the Chinese companies can take to address the problem satisfactorily. With Europe, you could still rely on their judicial system, though to be honest, I wonder how long that would be the case. When you are not the top dog anymore, you may not be as incline to play by the rule. For that reason, I also think the US is also untrustworthy today.
