China being a software power is relatively a very new thing.
That they managed to go head to head with the undisputed software leader the United States, that is kind of remarkable when China did not have that much software to begin with. In the case of TikTok, it is not competing, it is leading. That is rather stunning.
So I feel, there is no rush.
Some Chinese companies will do it better, some will do it worst.
That WeChat curious example, because that only exists in China as an all-in-one app.
From what I understand, people outside of China who used it when they were inside China, loved it, and would like to have an app like that in their home markets in the West.
That was a few years ago. And with every passing year, no such app has appeared in the West. Who knows? If WeChat tries to go global, they might fail to make WeChat global.
Elon Musk bought Twitter to make it into a WeChat clone.
