Two years ago, in a live mission, the crew were tasked with demolishing the enemy at all cost.

From this year moving forward, PLAN submarine force will have a balance of SSK/SSN boats, but with SSN serving as the backbone. IMO think of it as analogues to the DDG / FFG roles of 055 / 052D / 054A in the PLAN surface warships. Which also means there'll be a sizable SSN force comparable to the SSK in terms of numbers, but larger, higher endurance and more capable than SSK.
