living in indonesia, I'm witnessing the growing intolerance of the radical islamist day by day. There is an Indonesian Chinese woman who complained to a Mosque because the Mosque speaker is too loud when there is a prayer every day. She is sent to jail for that, and there were several Buddhist temples were burned down by the mobs. That is what happened when they become the majority. The most interesting part is that there is an attack on Indonesian own cultures, including their own traditional cloth, that those Islamist deemed as not Islamic. Pretty funny to see how those native Indonesians wearing Arabic style clothing denouncing their own ancestors' culture. Of course the traditionalists also pushed back against this trend, and luckily the majority of Indonesians, which is javanese, also don't want to see their culture replaced.

when China cracked down on middle east style mosque design, I actually think that is a good policy. What we need is localization of the religion.
