Those ro/ros and bulk container ships could each load several times the capacity of a single 071, and the Chinese military could press dozens of ro/ros and hundreds of container ships into military service. We have photos of the PLA practicing precisely these scenarios.

I also think that the need for seaport docking for these civilian ships is overstated as well, since offshore floating docks could easily be constructed by the military, just as they were for D-Day. You don't automatically have to take a port city like Taipei in order to land cargo from civilian ships. If you adequately control the battlespace around these ships they could disgorge the entire landing force in a matter of days.
