Hints shown up at various occasions, Hisilicon fabricated 28 nm chip on Mar 2021. SMIC fabricated 7 nm chip for MinerVa bitcoin miner around mid 2022, Huawei 畅享60 launched with a Kirin 710A CPU, a 14 nm domestic fabricated CPU on Mar 2023, and so on. Who'd have thought it's possible to make chip without US technology?

Now Huawei has prepared vast quantity of Kirin 9000S, 7 nm CPU domestically fabricated in the millions, so there won't be shortage of Mate 60 pro. Don't buy from the scalpers who gouge price.

This industry analyst is very optimistic about the prospect of Chinese semiconductor industry. Total investment in lithographic machine in China was less than 5 bil in the past 20 years, now the investment is couple of bil on yearly basis by a particular company alone. The best part, it's not as difficult as we thought. IMO if TW can do it, then it's not really as high tech as you'd imagine. The difficult part is what the TW don't do themselves, such as making the lithographic machine and so on.

Words are EUV will be delivered by end of this year, and go online next year. I guesstimate between end of 2024 to end of 2025, Chinese foundry will have their hands on EUV lithographic machine for production, at least the first generation EUV. Rumormill say next year there'll be a Kirin 9100, then follow by Kirin 9200 which will be made with EUV in small batch. 9200 won't be mass produced until 2025. Believe it or not I don't care. I'm going to get Mate 60 Pro as soon as it come to a store near me.

Despite Holland and Japan's semiconductor ban, forced upon by the US, has taken effect between Jul and Aug. ASML still managed to get export license of lithographic machine to China on Sep 1, lasting till the end of the 2023. I'd love to see Holland stop issuing export license ASAP.

Foxconn founder Terry Gou appeared quite keen about the prospect of coorperation with Huawei in chip making business. Who'd have thought. Aren't Foxcoon supposed to invest heavily in India?

A user recorded a top speed of 1407.99 Mbps inside a train.

As Ren Zhengfei said, 5G is no big deal to Huawei. Huawei has been investing in various technology sectors, including but not limiting to smart phone, telecommunication device, 5G, 6G, chip design including Kirin CPU. After the US ban, this expanded to include semiconductor making, Harmony OS, EDA tool, Pangu AI, MetaERP, GPU, car making etc.

What don't kill you make you stronger. This apply to China in general, Huawei in particular. Huawei R&D in SH has 4,000 people before the ban, it expanded to 20,000 after the ban. Hisilicon employed 7,000 before the ban, it now employed 30,000.
