For decades,all announcements of investing in the sleeping giant  suddenly went sideway and quietly withdrawn.  Every top comanies who touted the potential of India, invested a bunch of money then pulled out within a few years.

India is just chasing the shiny things for self pride while the US is using India as as wedge against Russia and China.  There is nothing India can offer in terms of space technology unlike the Russians.  If it there is, years ago they would have contributed in its cooperation with the Russians in their military partnerships.
