Which is to say, if Japan allows American air and naval bases to be used during a China-US war, those bases are fair game. However, this does not mean China should start attacking the entire Japanese military like a crazed moron. This will 100% force Japan into the war where before it could have been trying to stake out a middle position, i.e. not using the Japanese military directly but letting US use its military bases in Japan to fight China.
