and that TSMC is more of a liability for China than it is a potential asset. The presence of TSMC in Taiwan makes it more likely that US and the West would intervene in a cross-Straits war, and even if China acquires all of TSMC's foundries and processes intact post-war the needed subcomponents and other raw materials would still be embargoed by the West anyway. TSMC is a definite negative for China as far as the quest for Taiwanese reunification is concerned.
