Reading an article about the Chinese semiconductor industry, and I realized something. It was written by a Chinese guy, but it read like it was written by an Indian. Therefore, some thoughts came to mind about the Indians in general. Now I kind of know why I tend to avoid stuff written by Indians.

Pick Only On Weaknesses & Ignore Strengths Of Others

  • when it comes to China anything that appears weak is their starting point so that is the base and that is the base for everything that China is weak as that seems to be a mandatory point to pick on a Chinese weakness

  • any strengths that China might have are not even considered and ignored which is weirdly arbitrary (for example Chinese internal debt could be problem but if the economy keeps growing the debt becomes relatively smaller and the carrying costs become more manageable hence the debt problem is no problem but to the Indian they do not see that coming)

Double Standards

  • oddly picking only on Chinese weaknesses and ignoring Chinese strength that same formula they do not apply to themselves

  • the Indians see themselves and their Western partners have advantages that will only go from strength to strength and that is only a matter of time whereas the Chinese weakness will cause the collapse of China like a Gordon Chang

  • does not seem they have any self-awareness of their application of this double standard

Intellectual Dishonesty & Exaggeration

  • essentially this is not being fair to anybody including themselves because they are more comfortable with a concocted story than what the truth is

  • since they are so dismissive of what truth is further exaggerations are expected and are made

  • hence we get to witness a strange phenomenon where the more the Indian article goes on the more removed from reality it becomes

Emotional Analysis Narratives & Revisionism

  • what too many Indian article really are they are just venting and the analytical part is like a fixed horse race we know where that is going and the conclusions already

  • this is not really true cold analysis it is more of narrative building exercise which seems to serve an emotional goal to make people feel better about themselves

  • even when an Indian analysis tries to be a little different it invariably winds up going down the same road of picking on weaknesses exaggeration of own abilities though they might acknowledge a differing view but the narrative remains supreme like they are unchangeable status quos

  • the critical fault of such analysis or writing of same worn out narratives is that there is no such thing as revisionism as the Indians are stuck with the same story lines

  • every single Chinese on the other hand probably a revisionist whether out in the open or in the closet as the former or the latter will not understand why no revisionism in Indian as they kind of need some of that revisionism sauce

  • then they shout Jai Hind!

  • like, what the heck?
