All metrics pointed India to just being a periphery player with a GDP per capita similar to the collective sub-Saharan Africa.  India at a sustained growth of 10% per year will take 25 years just to reach China's 2023 GDP. Catching up with China?  Impossible. Since when India has a sustained growth of 10%?  Never.  Recently, India was bragging about the measly 6% growth.  At 6% growth it will take India 35 years to reach china's 2023 GDP.  How about the annual 1% population growth?  How about inflation?  India relies on imports of resources.  Inflation rate had been averaging 3.8% from 1960-2021.

 

All the bragging about how Indian companies are this and that are just BS.  Sure there are bright spots.  All countries have em.  India is just bigger therefore they seem to appear like global juggernauts. In reality, India has yet to being able to compete globally.  And that's not with sophisticated economy of the West, China, Japan, Korea.  It can't even compete with the likes of Vietnam and Thailand except for its sheer size. 

 

Like Adani, other Indian companies will be exposed as frauds as soon as they start to reach out to the global community.
