China must not fall into a trap that put the EU in the same bracket as the US, we must becareful when we says the west. The EU is more zealous than the US in term of pursuing liberal democratic system, the US is more hypocrite, but the EU is also pursuing more understanding foreign policy than the US. More importantly, the EU isn't a single entity, there are different visions among the members. I would say dealing with the EU, China must speak softly while carrying big stick, we don't want to turn EU into conjoined twin with the US. Russia already did that for the US, but EU still hesitant to put China into the same category as the Russians as a threat to the EU.
